Utility-based operation management for low voltage distribution grids using online optimization

Abstract We present an operation management controller for low voltage (LV) grids that coordinates a multitude of distributed energy resources (DER) in real time to maximize the utilization renewable production. It utilizes LTE radio network connects DERs distribution system operator. In our approach, utility functions are assigned DERs, and maximization is formulated as optimization problem. The problem solved by iterative algorithm performs incremental updates DER power set values achieve optimum. order take state grid process into account, estimated. During simulation use case, we demonstrate applicability identify benefits approach compared established optimal flow (OPF) method. Particular emphasis put on evaluating communication delay feasibility required network, leads high load.
